DIAMONDS - MELTING  is a continuous inventory documenting different types of glacier ice with photograms. The artist uses the cyanotype technique to create images. This process uses a mixture of iron compounds, which when exposed to UV light and washed in water, oxidize to create Prussian Blue images. The ice is positioned on the chemically treated paper and exposed to the sun. The water from the melting ice stops the exposure and creates the lighter aspect of the image. The series shows not only a cameraless process, it’s much more radical. It’s the ice - the object itself - that defines the aesthetic of it’s own reproduced image melting and disappearing.

The work highlight the fragility of glaciers, and keep in a unique print a last trace before the disappearance of these precious crystals, reserves of fresh water essential for life.
